How can you say that you only need 256 mb of ram for object desktop if logon studio needs 512mb thats false info and it could mess up someones computer. Thats wrong!

I would imagine the "Object desktop launchpad" minimally requires 256 meg.. the Ram requirements for the applications you launch from it, would vary by each program...

Since "Object desktop suite" is a culmination of many programs, it would fall to reason that you would need to read the requirements for each one you wish to use...

From the main site:

Object Desktop is a suite of desktop enhancement utilities designed to allow users to turbo-charge their Windows experience.

you should definately specify that in your requirements section people dont aitomaticaly know these things and it is very rude to post false info to sell your product i was going to buy it but since you did that i dont know?

Windows XP Professional machines joined to an Active Directory domain cannot use LogonStudio since logon screens aren't applicable.

what does this mean?

LogonStudio is not part of Object Desktop, it is a stand alone freeware app, so your statement is not valid.

When a Windows XP system is a memeber of a domain the fast user switching is not available. It will behave similar to the old NT logon method of using ctrl-alt-delete.
Do you know what an Active Directory Domain is?

Rob i think i know why the differing specs,go back & recheck the OS's that are listed,
OD has 32 bit only listed of xp & vista where as logon includes 64bit vista, vista i would've thought needed 512 minimum regardless of bit rate, however xp requires 512 dedicated ram to run at optimum while vista needs 1GB yet it's obvious they will still work but just run like a dog, since my comp came with only 256 with intergrated it was necessary to upgrade to 1GB & a much faster hdd,as xp did run like crap,so did OD,making those changes in ram & graphics worked a charm.

but in the list of object desktop programs logonstudio is listed so there for it is a part of it. How can it not be?

They are not, I believe they are listed either by error or due to the betas of LogonStudio Vista had been available for testing to Object Desktop subscribers. Both are free stand alone apps anyone can download, nothing to do with Object Desktop.

While it is included with the Object desktop listings, as Cavan said it is a stand alone product and is not included in the "price" of object desktop. So your argument is moot at best.

Your thread "your complete guide to customizing Windows XP" is incomplete at best and could lead folks to damage their PC's, as a few of the things listed are Basically hacks of the system files. Not to mention you missed quite a few other "safer" alternatives , including the full suite of Stardock stuff. A "complete guide" would list all free and paid content available

Im just trying to offer a little advise. Hang around, ask questions,Learn as much as you can,Contributing to the site will come with time and experience.

Best regards

All i am saying is that a buyer like me wouldnt know that it is a standalone product. And i think that you should either specify in the requirements for object desktop that it only applies to the OD launchpad and that we should check the requirements for each individual program. Or you should state the requirements for the Program with the most\highest requirements and state that other programs in the list may vary but this is the highest. I was only stateing this for your benifit so that there are no mix ups with buyers and refunds and whatever? I dont know? I bought Object desktop and Logon Vista is a download in the OD pane. I dont know the requirements for logon vista but if it is the same my staement stands true.
